You need to use a very light tone with that control, don't over darken the chip. In the link below, I demonstrated several renders to correct a situation existing in the Ultimate Miki2 Morph package found @ RDNA. The technique used caused an over saturation of the skin texture shifting the tint towards red, which cause all sorts of render problems. Using VSS restored the normal skin color. But to reproduce the intended tint, I added a HSV node with a modified saturation value, plugged the skin texture in, then plugged the HSV node into Color_Tint.
