I always felt Kinkade over commercialized himself.  I have 3 of his prints signed plus a couple of smaller prints but then I'm near his home area.  He seemed nice  the one time I met him but anyone can be pleasant for a few minutes.  I would imagine that any amount of fame and fortune would create a stress that I certainly couldn't fathom.  (love the Disney story though) He's just not unique any more.  Anyone with the ability to "paint light" is doing it, at least based on the last art auction I attended, and I met a woman who was peddling her versions of Kinkades work.  She had some close copies.
