Paul, what matters is the internal unit system, which is always meters. So if internal units are set to 1 unit=1 meter materials that were there before Vue8 are now at 0.10 metre size (before Vue8, 1 unit= 0.1 meter), now your display units are in imperial units, so they must be smaller than before, but since I never understood imperial units (and never cared to, I must admit, I'm happy to be able to convert miles to kilometers when I'm in the US, and that's all I need, lol!), I can't help more on this.
