Why not try Wings3D. It's free and one of the best at box modeling and very easy to use...

I purchased Curvy3D 1.5 and just got a free upgrade to Curvy3D 2.0. I like Curvy3D but not well versed in it... I also have 3DCoat which is more capable then Curvy and more like ZBrush....
