This, by the way, is one of the reasons that GC is only part of Poser "PRO". Casual amateurs who don't want to spend a lot of time learning why things work (or don't work) and learning to use tools to avoid a boatload of manual clicking - well they just never find render GC to be that useful. So why supply it? SM decided not to.
THIS is what I've been waiting for one of the knowlegable people to say! It validates what my own experience has been. I don't feel stupid anymore. (Perhaps lazy in the eyes of some, but not stupid.)
I bought PP2010 because it's 64 bit and I wanted the extra speed. I got that. In spades. I guess where I got side-tracked was a number of people suggesting that GC was going to solve lots of problems for everyone very easily, and therefore everyone should use it. Well, that's not been the case for me, and from the posts, for a large number of, as BB accurately puts it, the more "casual" users.
And I'm good with that. The upgrade was worth it to get the speed, better IDL, and an even better library system. I appreciate BB's candor (as always.) I will now put GC aside and go ahead and use what works for me and gets work through my pipeline with good results, and feel good about it.
