Actually Apple_UK, I'm not saying that at all...what I'm trying to say is that you set your desires too strict for ordinary people to follow. 
No matter what you say or do "everyone" will not comment or pay compliments...not just to you but to anyone.  You need to find a median that you can be satisfied with....you simply can't expect everyone to follow or live up to what you set for yourself.
Try to find a middle ground...
For example...less comments..less freebies.
