Hiya, I was asked a few years ago to do a tutorial on how to create a watermark, well the way I do them as there are various ways, here is a link, if you don't have photoshop then the idea can be used in programmes like paint shop pro

Once you have made 1, you can just save it and use it over and over again.

I know Deviant art has a facility for adding a watermark so it is feasable, but in the meantime it might be an idea to add your own and remember to save the original before adding watermarks, I've made the mistake of adding watermarks then realising I didn't save one without it. lol

At the end of the day however, those who do steal your work and wishes to take the time to remove the watermarks, will.
