Well, ofcourse the whole idea of norton is that you dont get virusses. but there is this strange blurry line between spyware, adware, malware and virusses.. im not sure what its based on but generally apparently virus scanners focus on virusses only, and other tools like antispyware tools focus on malware, adware and spyware...

Its not like Norton just straight up lets virusses through on a consistent basis, but i did end up at a point where i would get in trouble with virusses, and couldnt delete them with norton. so i uninstalled norton and installed some other free antivirus software which then did manage to remove virusses i had. And that kind of broke my confidence in norton... cuz i was paying to get less safety then i could have gotten for free!

Panda cloud is definitely the best free antivirus software out there at the moment, but as with any virus scanners it is not recommended to run more then one of them in parralel.  General rule is to have one virus scanner installed to avoid problems. 
If you install multiple virus scanners at once they might cause false positives for each other because of the way they operate.
