There is absolutely no need to do any coordinate transformations at all. I removed all that stuff completely. All you need is to set the camera "up" vector to 0 1 0 and it's done.
I am able to export simple props and Andy. This is enough for me to work on materials.
However, I'm getting some ugliness. These white spots (fireflies?) show up and the suggestions to not use pure white [1 1 1] isn't going to help - I already know not to do something like that and am using [.8 .8 .8]. And there are some strange artifacts in Andy's shadow on the back wall. Perhaps Luxrender isn't ready for prime time.
Anyway - this was 12 minutes rendered in Lux.
Renderosity forum reply notifications are wonky. If I read a follow-up in a thread, but I don't myself reply, then notifications no longer happen AT ALL on that thread. So if I seem to be ignoring a question, that's why. (Updated September 23, 2019)
