I recall reading a while ago in a number of books on PS that some problems could be eliminated by deleting the PS preference file...when PS is started again, it will automatically create a new one. The following is from the PS Readme File (PS version 6.0.1). It points to the location of this information. As one who has deleted the prefence file (in the past (earlier than ver 6.x) this allowed me to get back in and sort of "start over" without any problems. Initialization and Preferences Files You can find the Photoshop 6.0.1 preference files in the following locations: Windows 98: WindowsApplication DataAdobePhotoshop6.0Adobe Photoshop 6 Settings Windows NT: WinNTprofilesApplication DataAdobePhotoshop6.0Adobe Photoshop 6 Settings Windows 2000: C:Documents and SettingsApplication DataAdobePhotoshop6.0Adobe Photoshop 6 Settings. Note: Many preferences are now in the Windows registry. To reset your Photoshop preferences you can hit Shift-Ctrl-Alt upon startup.
