Here's the first nine skins in my "Shades of Mike" project. (you might remember it being mentioned, oh last December :) The body of Eklan is being worked on, and Wollen (the drow) is in early stages yet. And comments? critiques? I want to make three more skins to make an even dozen. Any ideas? requests?

You might want to vary some of them with facial hair? Just a thought.

blink Now why did the never occur to me? I guess I really don't like facial hair on men :? Hm. There's a lot of hairy skins out there. Might make one just for completeness sake though :) Thanks!

Given him some head stubble or does that count as facial hair too? And I'd like to see another dark Woolen with a luminous body/face paint texture (yellow, pink, green splats of paint). And a blue faced Celtic Warrior (braveheart style) would be nice.

Give him a Skin with scars, not many, just 1 or two, like after a fight (not a bloody one). Or a skin with a branding at the arms, tatoo at the wrist.

No Hair would be great for the Mikey charactor. Lc

Okay, satisfy my curiosity. What the hell is a drow? Is it some Conan/Gor/other musclenecked genre slave race?

Eklan looks like he could be a "Water Element", why not make the other three "Earth", "Fire", and "Air"?

Drow are Dark Elves.

Old wolf has stubble and scars and tattoos. :) Eklan is actually meant as an alien - but I might make color variants jusrt for kicks. Might make a Drow with blue/purple tribal tatoos. Hmm. Thanks :)

heyas; nooooooooooooooooooo! dont make any with hair. what he really needs is some beard/moustache/whatever hair sprayed on like with a hose, on an empty layer. see, then you could take any (hairless) map, open your library of different hair styles and colours, and throw the hair onto it. you know what i mean?

bloodsong ( ) posted Tue, 07 August 2001 at 5:25 AM

oh... you could make more dark skins, i think. the black, brown, olive, dusky kinda skins, ya know?

Hey blood, Great minds think alike. I had just decided _not_ to make any with facial hair but to make a layered photoshop file with facial hair. That way you could take any mike skin and unshave it :) I'm thinking an amerindian skin, an 'animal skin' (like the catskins for Vik2) Not sure on the third. Toying with the "suit of ink" idea but I don't have good resources for that. (maybe later - besides the seams promise to be a nightmare) Maybe a olive/middle-eastern type look? Of the lot my favorite is Liam. Erik is a close second - it's hard to see in this pic but he is an albino and I think I got just the right amount of translucent pinkness in his skin :) (I know an albino- kind helps) Albert is the base I used to make the rest. He's named that becuase his skin tone matches Victoria. (no cloning. just color matching) Here's a pic of Eklan's skin WIP - and a green hueshifted variant just because. :)
