With or without internet access, Poser needs to be able to communicate with your COMPUTER. This is seen as "internet activity" by some firewalls, so thinking "it doesn't matter what the firewall says since it's not necessary" may be wrong.

Assuming you're on Windows, try disabling the firewall completely. Suince the computer isn't connected to the internet anyway, it shouldn't matter. (How do you keep stuff like Windows and Flash ect updated without any internet access btw? Isn't that a hassle?)

Don't mind Windows telling you with big red flashing signs that your computer is not an open door. Without Internet, you've bricked it up anyway L

The error you got looks to my untrained eye a lot like the one you get when the firewall is blocking Poser from communicating with the computer. There are zillions of threads here about that already.

BESIDES that, Poser WILL throw you an error when you're not connected to the internet, because it assumes that Content Parasite can get onæine. It doesn't really matter, it's just that the search function (naturally) won't be able to access that either.

But The Library as well as Firefly will need access to some parts of the computer that is often mistaken for "internet activity" - in your case you can safely outrule that. It's not Poser trying to "Phone Home" it's just accessing the TCP port on the computer to communicate with itself.

As for Flash: Poser Pro 2010 uses Adobe AIR for the library. Default in the 64 bit version (as there's no 64 bit Flash ATM) and it can be turned on in the 32 bit version.

So Poser needn't be dependent on what some odd guy may or may not like. ;)

You just can't put the words "Poserites" and "happy" in the same sentence - didn't you know that? LaurieA
