I like that but how do you do ambient maps? Is there a tutorial somewhere or can someone just tell me how to do this?

Well :) it's just like a specular map or a transparency map.  A black and white image plugged into the Ambient channel, where the map is white the ambient effect will show, where it is black it will not.  So once it is plugged into the the ambient color, increase the Ambient value and you will get a nice effect.

If you took your butterfly map and made everything except the butterfly Black, then make the butterfly white, you will have an image you can use for an ambient map.  Add an image nod, load in the image, plug into Ambient Colour, then make ambient value 1.  Job done, you can make teh ambient color any color you like, a pale blue or yellow is noce :)

PS Hope that makes sense.
