Ok... update... even running as admin isnt helping some things... LOL
Not sure yet on poser itself, i was fighting the MAC side yesterday... (today, am eyeball deep in listing things on ebay for mom LOL)... (taking a break LOL)

So, i figure i'm settled into using poser on the mac side, and prepare to get used to using a mac.  Hubby SWORE he had everything installed properly.  bleh.  after most of the day downloading MAC versions of stuff from daz... i end up discovering several things:

1. this flavor of mac HATES .sit files.  Guess what Daz is loaded with when you download for mac?
   1a) workaround.. go to windows side, act like you're installing to a "dummy" runtime, use the PC files....... and it should go... right?  it always has allowed me to install to a temp runtime before... NO MORE.  even running as admin, it wouldnt.. it would start up, get to where it asks daz studio or poser... and THATS when it has a .dll fault.
   In the midst of all this... i discover this mini mac is reallllly mini... i.e., little to no hard drive space.  And my experiments of trying to get SOMETHING... ANYTHING to install properly is eatting up more of the precious space.

I havent even TRIED Vue yet... i'm afraid i would cry.  My only saving grace is that photoshop cs4 installed quite happily on the windows side and is cheerfully letting me play.

Oh, and on MAC side... i have NO IDEA where i need to stick those silly legacy content and other content installation files to make everything work... WHY does it have to be so blasted complicated???  Right now, the only thing i can accomplish on mac side is making a huge mess (and surfing the net.  yeesh LOL).  On windows side... im just making one huge old mess.  

This is SUPPOSED to be "the best of both OS's" (so sayeth my brother who is now a die-hard mac groupie)... right now, i'm thinking i'm bringing out the WORST in both OS's... im not griping specifically about either of them right now, cus i am not fond of EITHER at this point in time.

I do now know that the VM is Fusion??  LOL.

i have learned to move documents and images from windows to mac & vice versa.

im still TOTALLY clueless.

i'd bang my head on the keyboard, but its on loan!

Hubby is still leaning towards gradually switching me over to a mac... OMG PLEASE NOOOOO.

i want my pc back.

they make break more often than macs, they may be more vulnerable... but dangit... ALL MY PROGRAMS WILL RUN ON ONE!... ok... rant/whine over LOL

oh... and wont try to get vue on mac side until i get the poser stuff figured out LOL.  i wanna be on the windows side of things, as i'm most comfortable with windows... but i also still want to TRY to "like" the mac side... 

im still fighting to figure out how to get the content & legacy content into the poser i managed to install on mac side (or rather, hubby did... but im totally lost on where to put these things) to work... i was NOT amused last night when i realized all i had was mannequin guy, simon walk designer, and very VERY little else.  no hair, no clothes, no skin, NOTHING.  only a handfull of lights, basic materials... and UGLY GUY lol.  it was so pathetic, after fighting the hair room for an hour and still ending up with huge bald patches... i just gave up LOL.

I'll get to try again here later to get this figured out... i gotta get back to work...
