There are two different F-Stop parameters in Lux. One is for the "perspective" camera and affects depth-of-field but not sensitivity. The other is for the linear tone mapper and affects the apparent luminance of the image. The tone mapper F-Stop can be changed on the fly while rendering, while the camera F-Stop cannot.
Renderosity forum reply notifications are wonky. If I read a follow-up in a thread, but I don't myself reply, then notifications no longer happen AT ALL on that thread. So if I seem to be ignoring a question, that's why. (Updated September 23, 2019)
