Here is my second image - also some form as splashing as the first one! These gulls were taking a bath in the pool at the Radisson Hotel in Cape Town when I went there in June! I love the look on the face of the one looking on!

All of a sudden it  seems that i cannot upload a 3d picture. Well then it is 2 pictures from me for this challenge. Congratulations to everyone for uploading some wonderful pictures for this challenge. Size seemed to be a problem for my 3 d  upload. There we go with my 3d for this challenge.

myrrhluz ( ) posted Mon, 23 August 2010 at 7:51 PM

Beautiful B&W! Love the motion of the wings and the shape of the tree!
Wonderful lights and cat!  Judging from the cat's pose, something is in trouble.

I think the kitten do not like me and my camera that is why he/she run away when i came to close.
Got a few good captures of the little kitten though.

Meisiekind ( ) posted Tue, 24 August 2010 at 1:55 AM

Oh wow Joe - what a wonderfully timed shot of the bird flying off! Well done!

Christo - awesome light trails that is pure action and the kitty stalking its prey is just as cool!

Well done all!!

Christo.... whatever is that thorny thing the cat is going under??? It looks scarey! I would not like that in my yard, I have a layer of thin skin that attracts that kind of stuff.... OUCH!!!

No idea which plant it is.
I also tend to stay away from such thorny plants.

I was going to show a grackle marching across the tarmac that I took while waiting at the fast food drive through.  But on my last day in Lake Charles I stalked a squirrel. I didn't get very close, but he is moving. So here he is.  (This was taken in the early evening. Still very hot and sticky.)

Here's my last.  This is DJ.  There will be another of him (and his tongue) in my gallery once I catch up a little on comments.  He is my niece Amy's dog and has graced my gallery before.

Very intense shot Mies!  This is action of a very unfortunate kind for the spider! Beautiful detail, color, and shadows.  Wonderful capture of a moment that I'm guessing was very brief.
Welcome Jock! You still have time to post 3 images. I've seen excellent action shots in your gallery!

here I was messing around with f stops and low ligthing. My f stop was all the way down to 32 on my len and my len speed is on 8 seconds. My camera was on the table in the other room for the only len i have is a old 70 MM x 280MM... any way i got the idea to click on the camera and walk in front of the camera to see what happen. as you see i a ghost here. I got other ideas along this line. It fun to play like this if you have time.

jocko500 ( ) posted Fri, 27 August 2010 at 10:37 PM · edited Fri, 27 August 2010 at 10:38 PM

I did not have much time to really play out every thing in my head at the time. i still do not plus I did not have a dlash light to turn on my face to make it come out better.
I do not mind telling people how I do things. It like give the same subject to 100 people and see what they come up with and lol you will see no two will be alike.

I talking about the image with the f stop on 32

if anyone wondering the 8 seconds is not the timer it the shuter speed. I click and walked in front of the camera as the shuter was open. I thinking of useing a flash light to light up my face next time to see if it will come out better

Hi Jocko!

Great,  to see you as a ghost.
:woot: What an action!
Thanks for the information.
Cool idea and try.

What a lot of water in your street.
It sparkles "nice".

Recently, we saw such images here too.
Water, water, and another celestial water.

Also nice to see a bit from where you live.
Cheers,
Mies.

Greetings everyone,
Congratulations to all the authors who have added pictures in these days of my absence. Too bad that I realized recently the existence of these pages, it was fun to participate. In a few days ending on my first year on RR and I will try in future to be more present and to be more curioso.Grazie friends who welcomed me so warmly.

Excellent images Jock!
Wonderful captures of the very familiar wet of south Louisiana! Love the light hitting the wet streets and the splash.
Great idea and capture of ghostly motion!

I look forward to seeing more shots from you here, Mario.  I love your gallery!  Congrats on the first year!

Geeeze, I've missed alot of photos. Gonna have to kick the bot! A whole lot of good action stuff too   :thumbupboth:

I finally got an idea for one, and had a willing participant to do a version of an old nursery rhyme. Although we used a bonfire instead of a candlestick.

Hope I haven't gone over my limit 'cause this one is a triptych....

They say a picture is worth a thousand words...

So where do they go when a photograph leaves you speechless?

myrrhluz ( ) posted Mon, 30 August 2010 at 7:46 PM

I might just land in the fire if i attempt to jump over the fire.
Outstanding series of captures though.
