Maybe there is some misunderstanding?
You don't need any previous install of Bryce to do this. If a Bryce user is going to import any .obp file, then as alternative route, they could also manually copy/paste that file within windows explorer.
As a simple example; I download someones .obp from Freestuff. I will unzip it and within Windows Explorer copy it from where I unzipped it, to; C:Program FilesDAZ 3DBryce7PresetsObjectsUser
Boom, that's it, no importing ever needed. The same goes with .obp's you may have backed up elsewhere, which is what it had sounded like when I read ek-art's initial post, is all.
