Subject: Creating a glowing ball of light

Actually, there is a flat plane image map placed before a color tinted ball primitive.  Ambient_value was set to 10, and all other lights deleted from the scene.  The difference with IDL is that the resulting ambient illumination creates a more realitistic light/material response.  I could accomplish a similar situation with a point light set to inverse square attenuation for a natural light falloff with distance.
