Haven't tried it either, but I kept seeing Sketchup stuff in Kerkythea when I was having a play in that renderer and the models looked pretty awesome.
Ease-of-use is so subjective: a lot depends on what you're accustomed to. Even "learning-curve" is based on how much you can leverage skills learned in other apps to the new one you're trying to learn. Perhaps that's what makes Blender3D such a bear to learn: it ain't nothing like anything else under the sun.
