Hi, I had broken both of my ankles and right leg on May 3rd. Well on the right leg was a compound fracture. After 3 surgeries, and news that I might lose that leg due to a staph infection, and complications from my diabeties.. I am happy to say I am back on the mend, and the  last surgery cleaned out the break and I am (*knock on wood) healing! 2010 has been an awful year of illnesses for so many I know, as well as myself. Bad financially and in many other aspects of our lives around the world.

So here's to 2011... in advance. Please be good to us cause I don't think I could take a bad year again.

Here is a little peek at the positive awaiting all for the Year of the Rabbit!

Each Chinese year is influenced by whatever animal it falls in. The Year of The Rabbit begins on February 3rd 2011. Most Rabbit years are quiet, positive and inspiring and 2011 looks to be heading in this direction – a refreshing change after the fast-moving and quite dramatic Year of the Tiger. Family, diplomacy and personal development will all be highlighted in 2011. Once again alternative sources of energy and green living will be under the spotlight. The arts and culture sector of society will very busy producing amazing works of art and staging important exhibitions throughout the year. Love, romance and family life are well-starred, with a renewed appreciation of loved ones and friends. Overall, it should be a fun and relatively peaceful year. Even though aggression, violence and war zones will still be in evidence, the Chinese Rabbit year favours peaceful solutions and diplomacy, so there will be a feeling that all is not lost and that hope is still very much alive.

OMG!  How did that happen?!  Breaking one leg is bad enough, both ankles with that...  You don't do things halfway!  ;)  I'm sorry it happened, sorry there were complications too but very happy to hear you are now on the way to healing completely.

Thank you all, I honestly posted to give a positive statement on the year of the rabbit as we all have suffered so this year! :) Because it sounded so wonderful after the last year of all of the mishaps, mistakes and short falls!

As to my break, about the time I was getting ready to plant some annuals I and the hubby were in the yard clearing out brush and weeds (*which is a real problem in nevada) and I turned around with my arms full, I stepped into a 4 inch deep hole left over from the landlord doing water system repair (*actually his daughter and her hubby dug it). I had forgotten it was there and stepped in with both feet. Went down and I heard "Snap! Snap!" 10 weeks in a wheel chair, and several weeks on crutches... What seemed to be healing actually was festering inside. Doctor totally missed it. Then! I found out it was real bad and the surgeries started. So word to the wise be careful to have any break checked by more then 1 doctor. Mistakes can and do happen. My Endocrinologist found it because my sugars shot through the roof.

Now I am doing much better. The break appears to be healing and I think after my decline at new years due to that vitamin 'B' deficiency, and then the breaks after barely getting recovered from that had more to do with my complications. I was already very weak and did not have enough strength to recover properly. But now I hope to be back on top....

What a freak accident!  I won't do yard work no more!  2010 has been pretty good for me so far (I should knock on wood...) But I do hope that what's to come for you will be a whole lot better, after all this you sure deserve a break.

Good to hear you are healing. I would get legal advice on suing the landlord. 2011 needs to be a good year so people are happy when the world ends in 2012. :lol:

Well.... I don't know if suing is a good option, since I sort of would like to stay on another year at this house.... But I will keep it under my hat in case!
