If anything, 64-bit programs are slower, not faster. They have to move more data because all object pointers are 8 bytes instead of 4. But they can handle more then 4 GB of RAM - so the main advantage of the 64-bit version is that it can deal with larger scenes that the 32-bit version can't even load.


Renderosity forum reply notifications are wonky. If I read a follow-up in a thread, but I don't myself reply, then notifications no longer happen AT ALL on that thread. So if I seem to be ignoring a question, that's why. (Updated September 23, 2019)
