Yes you can make materials for Bryce with Photoshop, and you can use photographic textures, I've got a tutorial on ShareCG on how to do bricks, here's a link to a couple of rusty metal textures: [ Rusty Metals](http://www.renderosity.com/mod/freestuff/details.php?item_id=57930)

The picture above shows them in use on a corridor model.
