I consider myself a person loosely in the tradition of Abraham. Depending on your definition, I could be a Christian, a Muslim and a Jew, or none of the above. I also find "gaiaspheric" notions to be intriguing. It intrigues me to consider that things like the notion of the "endtimes" and 2012 are related to the absense of new frontiers to explore, and that we've hit the point at which the Earth can barely sustain us at precisely the same time that we can reasonably consider leaving it as a viable option. Maybe the moment at which a species can seriously entertain the notion of leaving its birthplace is the time at which it should start actually trying to do so...
I just can't imagine humanity going into space and taking a multitude of overlapping and/or conflicting beliefs with it. Then again, I grew up on Star Trek and its contrasting of various alien customs and beliefs with a humanity that had finally seemed to overcome those differences within itself.
