Subject: Anybody here upgrade from nvidia geforce 8800 gt ?

It also just occurred to me that we can render in openGL not only preview.
So the timer can be used for something involving open GL, but all normal scenes take less than a second to render in open GL.
I don't know if rendertime popup can  be set to detect 100ths or 1000ths of a second.
If it can then that might do the trick to benchmark Open Gl perfomance in Vue
Do you know if the rendertime popup can be set to detect and shows100ths or 1000ths of a second?

Otherwise you would have to make a scene so complex or large that it would take many seconds to complete in openGL, then you have some kind basis for a bench mark.
So that might be a way to benchmark at least openGL speed.

However that would not tell you if it's better looking to not. (you would have to screen shot the old card and new card visual result)
