Also remember to check your raytrace bounces. If the model has the glass as double sided, in other words, a layer of polygons for the front of the glass and a layer of polygons for the back, then you will need three raytrace bounces, two for the glass and one for the chrome reflection. If the glass is single sided you will just need two.
This image is a quick test just to test the glass headlight shader on a random model. Ignore the rest of the model, I have not fixed or textured that, just the lights. You can see what the glass is supposed to look like.
