Thanks to all. I'm probably going for the GTX 460 1Gb sometime after I get V9I.

Quick heads-up after 48h: The GTX 460 works very nicely  in "fixed hardware pipeline" mode with Vue 9. Very fast and stable. In Shader 4 mode however, there are some issues with driver crashes ("... Driver has stopped and recovered..." yeah, right) when I have complex scenes. I have tried the 258.96 release drivers and the 260.89 beta drivers. Both have the same issue. Hopefully one of the next nVidia updates will fix it. I had initially similar issues with my 8800 GTS, but after a couple of driver updates it was running really nicely. So there is hope. Overall I would still recommend the GTX 460.
