If we're talking about the ancient and older DAZ installers, then you may need to use XP (or older) compatibility mode when running them.

Another thing to watch out for with the really old ones, is that you must cancel the search (press escape or click the Cancel button) immediately after launching (they don't cope well with big disks).

Avoid trying to install to protected locations, or use "Run as Administrator" on the installer (as a last resort).
