That won't work - you need to re-install.
Poser needs to be configured for the new machine and it needs to install support files such as the VisualC libraries.
Reinstalling Poser at the same location (on the external drive) will make it work again.

You could alternatively install Poser at the local drive and attach the "old" runtime as an external runtime.
