It thinks that the target folder has to have a Poser.exe file in it. It doesn't actually verify that it is Poser, just that a file with that name exists. Thus - any old empty text file renamed to Poser.exe gets the job done.
Poser Pro does not even have a file called Poser.exe, so users of Pro must create one even if they want to put content in the main runtime.
Renderosity forum reply notifications are wonky. If I read a follow-up in a thread, but I don't myself reply, then notifications no longer happen AT ALL on that thread. So if I seem to be ignoring a question, that's why. (Updated September 23, 2019)
