Heh heh...  I do scribble notes frequently when modeling or doing scene setup.  You can see a dry-erase whiteboard (one of several) and pens in this pic.  This desk is one wing of a U-shaped assembly, and there is a paper pad, calculator, coffee warmer hotplate, and a candy bowl full of flash drives on the larger center desk.
