Hi Pixel Candy,

You mentioned that you wanted to see a 1950's Gas Station so here is a very early stage of what I envision.

Please keep in mind I just started this a couple days ago so there will be many more details. Also the materials will most likely evolve over time. :-)

Hope you like it.

Tom

Tom,

The gas station looks cool. Alot of Gulf stations of that era used the oval style window in them. I've actually seen a picture of one that very much resembled the one your showing here but instead of Texaco, it was a Gulf station.

Hey Bud,

That is one of the reference images I used for the concept. Good eye my friend. If you come across any other images that have good details like this one feel free to post them. I am always open to suggestions, as long as it moves me in the direction of my vision of the era. I work in a weird sort of way. I first look at as many images as I can see on the net or in books, and then borrow from them as well as my memory to come up with what I think is a good look. Work in progress is another way to describe my crazyness.

Any way thanks for the post. Do you think I should change to Gulf to be more authentic?

I think maybe so. :-)

Regards, Tom

Wow! The gas station looks amazing. I like the Texaco logo the font and size is perfect for a zombie style render :) Add an old coke machine in the front of it and have the garage doors so they can be open with some lift props.  I am glad you went with a gas station and the style is perfect for what I was looking for. Keep up the amazing work,

                                                                                                                               Kurt :)

Hi Kurt,

It is as though you are reading my aledged mind. :-)

The coke machine is the thing I am modeling next.

Yes I plan to do a lift inside as well as an old oil pit with boards on top, but not longer used. You know because it would be under the ground plane and would not drop to the ground properly in Vue.

Glad you like what I have so far guys.

regards, Tom

Hi Kurt,

Here is your Coke machine. Changed the pump textures a little and added a tire rack.

Couple signs, trash can and some weeds.

Awesome! Thats perfect and really adds a lot. When will this be finished. I want it now. lol

Hi Kurt,

It is always hard to put a date on it. Modeling, and texturing as well as conversion to Poser then Vue, then site images and finally testing and then I can release.

I would love to release by this weekend but it will most likely be by the following or even the week after that. I do like to release on a Friday so as you can see I have a hard time putting a date on it.

Most importantly is the modeling and texturing, of which I really sweat a lot!

I have to always keep in mind the other sets I have released so they all tie together, with one overall look. I guess it would be easiest to call my job a mental juggler. :-)

Any way, thanks for your interest. Now back to my favorite part, modeling.

Regards, Tom

Ah, what can I say except these are great sets and not a problem loading or rendering in Poser, at least no problem on my computer. I just want the whole city.

I've got alot of Stonemason's city props at DAZ but they don't render as quickly as yours and yours look as good as his.

Cherokee69 did you leave any reviews for them?  Its amazing how well the sets look together. I finally got the 3rd set and they look amazing together.  They are highly detailed and render crazy fast.

Hi Guys,

Thanks for the nice words! It really makes my day.:-)

Sorry about my not being back faster but my hard drive died and I also had to add another video card. Now I am sporting quad monitors on a screaming fast computor.

I just measured across all my monitors and they total 72 " in width.  I have to actually turn my head to see from one end to the other.

This is crazy! :-)

In celebration of my new toys, here is another look at City Block Four.

Hope you like it. I named the Guitar repair store after a buddy of mine that repairs guitars and sells them on E-Bay. He had to start doing something new for a living once he had a tree dropped on his back by acident. So much for climbing trees any more.

Regards, Tom
