Somewhere there is a tutorial, more or less, that Anton Kiesel wrote about using photos to create factial texture maps. Be sure to see his textures at Prop Guild. His 'tute' may have been written for a specific purpose in the texture forum of the Poser Forum.org if anyone is looking specifically for it. I copied it, but hesitate to post it because it IS Anton's way of doing things and I think he should be the one to post it, not me. I haven't tried it yet, but many on the other forum are playing with it. Also, using PS or PSP or another graphics program for post processing seems to be almost standard, it seems, reading others' posts. I know what WG is saying about looking at others work--after you stick around the forums for awhile you learn that there are lots of ways to improve your work--just takes time and experience LOL (oh, and a bit of talent, I have to add).
