Rebelmommy, please look at my tutorial for portraits using Reality and the Soft box, the videos are at http://preta3d.com Also you will see that it doesn't take 3 days to render them, I have a marginally faster machine than yours, Mac Pro with 8 cores, and you can get an HD portrait like the one that I show in the video in a few minutes. With some prop in the background it might take a few hours, depending on the lighting, but not three days.
