Hyperblobs are fun. The primary difference to Metablobs is that you utilize Hypertextures (the 3D volumetric materials) to drive the distribution of geometry. That allows for some very neat effects that are impossible with metablobs. For example, holes, tunnels, overhangs, porous rock etc. Above and in the following post are a couple of examples that show what can be done. No great art, just me playing around to see where the limits are...
