• rain is an old volumetric cloud animated and stretched (not so simply indeed)

• waves are one of my shaders with an old volumetric cloud in  ellipsoid shape obviously animated; good only at a distance to tell you the truth

• the shoreline waves are one of my best achievements but are 100% meshes; if rendo allows me, I'm going to sell the model in my store joined with sand meshes (both vertex and terrain models) and some water shaders. hope it helps. ciao
