anyone know the file name of the texture bmp used for the V4 MFD please?

been trying to find it. since it isnt used in all the areas for the dress. and I need it for the parts that do not have that texture.

thanks

There should be a file list included with the DAZ installer.  When you install the item, the ReadMe will give you a list of things and (usually) where to find them.

In any event, do you mean the template?  It's very rare for an actual texture to be in BMP format.  If it's the template, that should also be available from the installer file, or from the product page at DAZ.  Or, you can create your own by loading the MFD into UVMapper.

no. if you look while in the materials section of Poser. if you have the dress on the char. look at the one for either the skirt or the corset. it will be that black and white one. and there will be a yellow caution icon above the window for it.

What version of Poser do you have?  I do not recall ever seeing the "caution" icon

The basic V4 MFD come untextured, with a Noise node for Bump and a Phong on Reflection_Color for those materials.

There are some MAT poses that can be applied, but have just texture and trans map for lace effect.

OK, that is good to know...

You can find the name of the file it is expecting by clicking "Image Source" area of node and going into "Texture Manager". If you click on name while in texture manager is will give full specification (i.e.,name & location expected).

But as before, the basic dress is untextured.  It sounds like you have applied a MAT pose or Material Collection that is not part of basic MFD.

how to say this. that it was already there. in at least the two spots if not more of the MFD. when I stuck the dress onto the V4 figure.

just like on Mike's clothing. there was a texture too. found out year later that it was a woven pattern.

but thanks

I can click on it. it says none. but yet it is a noise type bump.

Can I second the plea for a screenshot? It's nigh impossible to help you if we're not on the same page. I'd also like to see that "caution sign" - I've never ever seen that in Poser...

If it says "none" in the texture channel, then there's (duh) no texture applied. There's still the bump map (noise node) though.

You just can't put the words "Poserites" and "happy" in the same sentence - didn't you know that? LaurieA

The caution sign comes up in the material room's simple interface, if the material has features which can't be displayed in that mode (i.e. anything more complex than a Poser 4 style set-up). If you never use the simple mode you won't see it.

it is the only mode I use in dealing with what is going on in my work.

I have yet to play about with the more advanced form. tooo scared to.
