I'm unemployed and flat broke, my wife, 15 month old son and I live in a tiny 1 bedroom apartment - which has barely enough room for the three of us - and we have another child on the way, and nowhere for her to sleep.  I am in constant pain from a damaged knee and had to cancel my op due to bad weather.  I now have to wait until next year.  The painkillers I'm taking don't allow me to drink alcohol and they have spectacular withdrawal symptoms so I can't even stop taking them to have a drink or two over Christmas.  Not that I could afford it, anyhow.
