I like the TongueOut stuff! I would like to propose some changes to the JPs, which I feel would make the tongue bend better. The following is based on the figure in the v0.9.126-16-gc2c03cb.zip. This is just for the xrot of tongue2, I have not had a close look at the other rotations yet (but I will soon). Its debatable whether I have placed the origin too far forwards, it might be better at 0.0165, or even at 0.0160. This is not meant to be the last word on the best joints, just a suggestion for improving them.
In the animation the xrot for tongue2 goes from -75° to 75°. Below are the settings I used, they also seem to work well when the tongue is not fully extended:
