Hey,

So I'm new to the animation business and am curious on what would be a good program to use for animating. I'm looking into making 3d figures in 3dmax, then export them to a program that can make them move. The final idea is to make animated short films. Is there a program that can make that happen.

I'm assuming that I'll definitely need to get Final Cut Pro for the post work on animation scenes, right?

Well Max has quite a few animation tools to use.  I presonally would reccomend PMG Messiah for animation it is one of the most intuitive animation programs out there.

A link for you to look it up. I have not used a lot of different ones but i used Messiah and likd it it is reasonably priced and loads in as a front end to a lot of programs.

Yeah, I got the pro one just last night. I'm curious about the deal. Did you get it at the $10-40 price? It's a community test thing. Trying to get the word out for people to buy the product. If enough people get it, then they will give the item over for $10-40. Not bad, considering. Hopefully, they won't charge me for a fat fee if they don't reach the goal.

There is another excellent animation program that is inexpensive and has been around for years called Anaimation Master. www.hash.com , their forums are fantastic and their support is great.

One of my most favorites A:M's is Killer Bean http://amfilms.hash.com/search/?search_id=killer+bean&search_type=search_videos&x=41&y=15

Hash also great tutorials, at least check them out.
