sorry, pp, no idea... last try: is your pc overclocked on 667 mhz? is it the same when you doubleclick it or when you open it from the menue? i had trouble with pshop 6 opening eps files (that was on mac, though), shutting itself down or freezing, but that it'll reset your computer, hmmm... post your question in photoshop forum, maybe they'll know more...
