Quote - The two files do exactly the same thing when applied to a figure/prop. Apart from the minor changes described above, the only difference between them is where they are stored in the Poser Library.
The Materials folder is the intended and logical place to store texture-application files, either as single Materials or as Material Collections.
But in Poser 7/Poser Pro and earlier versions, you had to enter the Material Room in order to see and use the contents of the Materials folder. Mat Pose files were a work-around to allow users to apply Mats and Mat Collections without leaving the Pose Room.
In the current versions - Poser 8 and Poser Pro 2010 - you can see and use the contents of the Materials folder without leaving the Pose Room, so there is no need for Mat Pose files at all.
It's really your choice as a vendor whether you want to provide the Mat Pose option for the many people who are still using older versions of Poser.
Thats what I'm Doing with my character. Its a Mat Collection Pose =) that way all u got to do is Add the morphs. Add the mat pose an your done. Btw why does it take so long for uploads to be accepted >.<
