Actually I think putting poser somewhere other than where win 7 wants to put it will cause problems. Not the other way around.  V4 not installed in the same path as poser itself can cause problems.

Two things that usually cause problems are file searching and admin rights. You said you were having problems with it searching for a file, so thats where I would start as far as solving whats wrong.

If you can't eat it or play with it,

just pee on it and walk away. :-)
