Most likely the bump setting is too high. When you import, one of the settings is a bump conversion - try turning that lower.

I found the "Polygon Mesh Option" control setting for the figure (by clicking on the figure) and selected the |Smooth Mesh" option and turned on the Dynamic Subdivision option, at maximum quality boost.
This is the result. I believe it likely solved the issue, but I will investigate alternative renders by adjusting the bump settings on the original poser file.

But that's what I don't understand, I've never had to "smooth" the V4 mesh ever when importing her into Vue, she always comes in as is without problems.
Maybe you could do some screen grabs of what you're ticking and not ticking when importing.
Is your Esprit version 9?
Does it have the 3 options for the Poser SDK, you may be using the wrong one, there is one of them that has what we used to call at the time, The "hulk" effect because it affected Poser tesxtures so badly, turned them green mostly, it could be this problem you're experiencing if that is the SDK that you are using.

I actually purchased and downloaded Esprit 9 yesterday ... I'm assuming it has the latest patches. Not sure if the Poser SDK version is the culprit. I enabled the latest version offered in Esprit 9 (May 2010). The others were February and March 2010, so I [picked the latest. But I'm still knocking around in there. I'd like to send you some screen grabs soon. I'm having problem with that today.
What version of V4? She has the green skin in older versions.
No she doesn't, the green skin was an SDK issue known as the "Hulk" issue, if you use one of the earlier SDK's that Vue provides you will still get the Hulk green skin, which is why I said to use the latest SDK that Vue provides.
This was an SDK issue, nothing to do with V4 or any of her textures as such.

I imported today some Poser figures with no problem at all! The Poser shader tree works fine also the dynamic Poser clothing. No problem with Vue Infinite, maybe it is a problem with Vue Esprit only? But I don't know that.

The green skin showed up in other rendering apps that didn't rely on Poser. I think it was V4.1 that fixed the green skin.

Sorry Shawn it was an SDK problem, that was confirmed at the time by e-on and you can still get the Hulk effect in Vue 9 by using one of the earlier SDK's supplied with it. I know this for sure because I tried it.
It was to do with a shader that some merchants used that was coloured light blue instead of pure white and it was that, that was being interpreted wrong in the SDK and turning the texture Green.
I had long discussion with e-on tech over this, I know I'm right 100% on this..

I suggest you look at the thread I've linked to here, in it there is clear evidence for it being the SDK of Poser and the light blue diffuse colour of some of the textures. There is a comparison picture done by Rutra which shows the effect all too well and even you commented and seemed to agree Shawn..

Notice that the texture of the V4 figure (right) imported directly into Vue as a .PZ3 file, renders with a splotchy looking surface.
Oddly, the same Poser file, exported as an .obj file and imported into the same Vue scene, renders well and with the texture appearing as it should.
All my imported Poser figures render this way.
I know I must be doing something wrong.
I am using Vue 9 Esprit. System processor is an Intel core duo CPU with 2.00 GHz, and with 4 GB of RAM. Video card is NVIDIA GeForce 9600M GT
Any advice would be appreciated.
