Subject: MIA Poser 8 library

Okay, this is not the blank library problem first.  Had that before, fixed it, no problems.

What has happened is that I began getting the infamous hang whenever I click ok joy.

So, since it happened before, uninstalled (with the unistaller) Flash, reinstalled.  Restarted, and I get:

Alternate HTML content should be placed here. This content requires the Adobe Flash Player. Get Flash

where the library should be.  Tried again.  Deleted all the librarypref.xml etc.  Nothing.  Try uninstall and reinstall and restart comp again.  Nothing.

I really don't want to reinstalling Poser again (would be the third time this month).

Any suggestions?

open your web browser and check that flash player is installed.

According to my Firefox it is.  The  newest one, 10.2.153.1

An addendum to this.  I did a fresh reinstall of Poser, even after that the library is still missing.

Poser uses the Flash plugin for IE, which is not the same one Firefox uses... 😉

You can grab the IE one here...

Says exactly the same thing in IE too.

I may not use IE most of the time but I update both my browsers at the same time.  So was done earlier today.  That is part of why I am confused.

I trust you applied SR3 when you reinstalled.

Try opening this  file in Firefox.

RuntimeuiFlexLSMGUIbin-releaseLSMGUI.html

This file is the Library. If it opens in Firefox, I believe the issue is with firewall settings-make sure Poser is allowed access to the network.

If that isn't it, there is more diagnostic info at SM here.

Well whatever it was, it seems to have resolved itself.  I was just going to export a scene with Pose2Lux that I had set up and gee whiz, my library is back.  Didn't do anything.  If it comes back I'll check those out.

There are days I think my computer is possessed.
