Quote - > Quote - Or just let Poser install those components since it COMES with them built in. I don't understand this notion that you have to go on the Internet. Everything you need is built into the Poser installation files.
If you want to get updates directly from Adobe web sites, then yes you would want to (not have to) connect to the Internet, and in that case it would be your computer doing it, not Poser, so that it can get an installation package.
I am just going on what I have read on the forums. I am not able to access the internet at all with my old computer & I didn't think it would cope with Poser 8. I didn't realise the files where built in, so many people reported issues with the library system & it was suggested many times it was due to not having updated internet browser etc. My old computer doesn't even have IE, it is a Dell & the hard drive died & the guy that rebuilt it for me left a lot of stuff off. Funnily enough Poser 7 hasn't crashed once since it was repaired, runs nicely without all the useless crap on the system, but I am without some basics like a calculator, IE etc
My laptop doesn't like Poser much, although Poser 8 IS performing a little better lately since I added it to the DEP exemption list. I just thought the old Poser Pro might be an upgrade from 7 that my older computer would cope with, as I still prefer to do most of my work on that system.
Since you're one of us forward-thinking Aussies, you might follow a true-blue Aussie trend and use FireFox instead of IE. Can't think of a single reason to pine after IE, and lots of reasons to avoid it.
