Quote - The old Poser Pro is Poser 7 with upgrades, yes. If P7 works, PPro should as well.

Earlier I thought you were talking about Flash and AIR, and my response was regarding those components.

Now we're talking about IE. It is not required that you use IE as your favorite/default browser, but the HTML rendering component of IE is connected to how the Poser library is displayed in Poser 8 and you have to have it installed already, because SM is not allowed to re-distribute it.

Poser 8 requirements, as published by SM, for Windows PC are:

Internet access is not among the listed requirements. Please bonk anybody on the head who says otherwise in a forum. Forgive my impatience but I (and others) have been fighting this discredited meme for years now and it will not die despite the clear and unambiguous corrections made over and over.

Note also that if you have Poser Pro 2010, and are using the AIR version of the library, then there is no need for IE or Flash 9. AIR is standalone.

see that is one of the biggest issues for our household about upgrading. Due to the fact that I too, wish to put the p8 to a puter that is not internet connected,,,and I have read in many forums that it has to be connected for the libraries to work.

I do not get that it has to connect to the LAN but not the net?

also is it really worth it or should one wait for p9?

(just read the other thread about gamma control etc and seems like allot of headache)
