Poser - OFFICIAL F.A.Q (Last Updated: 2024 Nov 29 7:57 am)
INJ Pose Builder... even though it's a bit dated, it works reasonably well. I think a large part of what you use is what you're comfortable with.
I really should learn to use that free Python script by svdl... you wouldn't happen to remember the name, Victoria? Is it this one? Might have a go, actually...

I wrote a script to extract inj poses from a cr2. There should be a few others around in freestuff.
A rem pose is just the inj pose with a couple small edits so wordpad.
Mat poses in P7 and up (maybe p6) save a material collection and edit it , again wordpad. Unless you need to support Poser 4 and 5 I would just supply materials and let mat poses die.
Thanks everyone for your responses. This is exactly what I was looking for. It appears that folks are using a mixture of tools to accomplish the extraction of all the custom elements from a character.
My original motivation for this was created when I was attempting to inject the V4 muscle morphs into an existing custom character and it was not working. It works just fine for a clean version of V4 but not for my custom character I had built up with many different tweaks. What I was looking for was a simple way to extract all custom stuff i.e.mats, morphs etc and then reapply them. It struck me that all commercial character creators must go through this process as well.
PhilC your utility seems like it might be like the cat’s pajamas with respect to my issue. I’ll wander over to your site and check it out.
I use ToolCollection by Dimension3d (here in Renderosity Market Place) for creating the INJ and REM for custom morphs, but it can make INJ and REM for dialed morphs too (and maaany other tools).
For MATs, I just save material collections in Poser 8 (when saving to material library, check the option to save material collection and chose which materials to include), open it in a text editor and change the "mtCollection" that is in the first few lines to "figure" or "$current" (that one for props, I THINK that's how it's written) and save as .pz2 instead of .mt6.
P.S.: not a native english speaker and I don't know many expressions, are the cat's pajamas supposed to be a good thing? LOL

Binary morph editor
Mat pose creator
Are there other products out there as well to do this? Do people actually create the PZ2(s) with just a text editor as well? Are there some good tutorials on this process?
