I'm only a noob with lighting which is why i started this thread ,i have noticed a distinct difference between preview and final render settings, in so much as that some landscape props need to be rendered in preview to get any shadow effects cast on them, maybe you could post a screen grab of your final render settings, and maybe its worth trying using the D3D render firefly, found in the partners list of your scripts menu, see if that makes any difference, like i said i'm only learning but maybe worth a shot?
ps maybe worth changing the light to a poser default and trying again to see if it the light properties of the light you used caused an issue....
