I hereby nominate you as Chat Mod.
Oh no!!! Me! Me! Me!!
Back when I got my computer in 2000, I didn't now a single thing about them. I didn't even know the proper way to turn one off. I was always just pressing "off." I was so lost with the computer and how to do things and desperately needed some help.
My browser at that time was set to MSN (I guess that was default), and I remember seeing a "Chat" link, so I clicked it. I soon found myself in the wonderful, and yet very weird, world of online chat.
I found a "room" that didn't have an intimidating name and clicked on it and proceded to explain that I just got a computer and didn't know anything about them and had some questions. People were nice enough to take me under their wing and help me out. Eventually I found myself stopping in for more than just computer related stuff, and joining in the chat a little.
Over the course of 6 months I guess, I went onto create and run one of the most successful privately run chat rooms on MSN Chat! And for the most part people were pretty well behaved.
So far as the chat room here, I went into it a few times but either no one else was in there, or the few that were there were extremely rude and didn't even talk to me when I tried to talk to them. So I never bothered to check it out again.
I think Chat here would be great if it actually had a purpose. For example, a weekly, moderator run, interview with someone from the 3D industry, or an artist, or a modeler. Perhaps even a weekly lesson on something graphic related, such as composition, modeling, etc.
