Nothing built into Poser, no.
Here's what I do. I press Ctrl-T to switch to top view. Now I zoom out.
When I drop in a new prop, it's in the world center. From top view I can easily grab it and drag it close to where I'm working. Then I switch cameras again.
Renderosity forum reply notifications are wonky. If I read a follow-up in a thread, but I don't myself reply, then notifications no longer happen AT ALL on that thread. So if I seem to be ignoring a question, that's why. (Updated September 23, 2019)
